Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure is generally more intense.


Swedish
A technique designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to the muscles. It increases circulation and stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. Swedish Massage reduces stress, both emotional and physical, and is suggested in a regular program for stress management. Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, friction, percussion, vibration, and effleurage.

Hot Stone Massage
Ancient technique application of heat to the body that deeply soothes and is a relaxing form of massage. The heat helps tight muscles release. The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along your spine, in the palms of your hand, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body.

Cold Stone Massage
It is helpful for sports injuries, sinus problems, menstrual symptoms, circulation, and energy levels. It provides stress relief and helps the body relax. This type of massage is also effective at allowing the mind to release feelings of trauma and anxiety. Marble stones are used with this treatment.

While this form of massage is soothing and effective, it is not meant for everyone. Clients with heart ailments, sensitivity to cold/hot temperatures or issues with skin inflammation should avoid this treatment. Always check with your doctor if you are questioning if this therapy is right for you.

Prenatal Massage
Specifically designed for mother-to-be, prenatal massage loosens the muscles and joints, improves the circulation, relieves fatique and aids the body through the pregnancy phases. This technique also benefits the calmness of mind and spirit.

Reiki Massage
A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A complete Reiki session is offered to a fully clothed recipient who is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair.

Most commonly, Reiki is offered through light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner's hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head and front and back of the torso. The placement of the hands should never be intrusive or inappropriate, nor should there be any pressure.

Additional placements on the limbs can be done as needed (for example, if there is an injury or surgical scar), and some practitioners routinely do so. The Reiki practitioner can hold her hands just off the body if needed (for example, in the presence of an open wound or burn), and some practitioners always offer Reiki in this way.
